The Broken Binding started as an independent bookshop based within the UK, focused on offering both signed and un-signed options for Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror, amongst several other genres. 

We have gone on to regularly produce special editions of incredible traditionally published titles, both old and new. This led to the introduction of monthly subscription services, with the aim to rediscover old favourites and bring them back into hardback with a number of special finishes and brand new, exclusively commissioned artwork.

At the same time, we champion independent, self-published authors. We work in collaboration with those authors to offer options that suit, including signed and numbered standard editions.

As we gained more success, we were able to launch The Broken Binding Press. This sees us partner with self-published authors to create deluxe limited editions of select titles. These books feature brand new artwork and a higher standard of specifications.

This was followed by us introducing Indie Endless Editions of certain titles, allowing us to produce special editions in line with those of traditionally published titles. We are able to keep these in-stock as evergreen selections for readers to continue to discover without fear of missing out.

We have been able to adapt elements of these processes to suit the needs of each project we collaborate on.

Our reputation for selection, quality, and customer service has seen us leap in popularity since our launch in 2021.

The Broken Binding Publishing sees us step into the realm of publishing for ourselves. This allows us to continue to collaborate with our authors in the same way as we already have, but to be able to also offer more of a structured and secure agreement and increased distribution in line with those of traditional publishers.
