The Broken Binding Publishing have acquired Paul Cornell’s Oh Fortuna! and an unnamed sequel, in a 2 book deal. Marcus Gipps, Publishing Director at The Broken Binding Publishing, acquired World English rights from Stacia Decker from Dunow, Carlson, and Lerner.

Oh Fortuna! is a historical fantasy romp set in an alternate Britain in which the classic pantheons of gods are real (all of them), human affairs are messy (very), and the fate of everything rests in the hands of a socially inept mathematician on a mission to save the world.

Oh Fortuna! is scheduled to be published in May 2027.

Paul Cornell is the author of the Lychford and Shadow Police books and has written episodes of Elementary, Doctor Who, and other TV shows. He’s written comics for every major publisher. He has won the Hugo, BSFA and Eagle Awards, and shares in a Writer’s Guild Award, a Grand Prix Nova and a Scribe Award.  He’s also the winner of the Terrance Dicks Award for lifetime achievement in Doctor Who writing.  His last graphic novel, Who Killed Nessie? was nominated for a British Book Award. He’s the co-host of the Telefantasy Time Jump podcast and Editor-in-Chief of Cosmic Lighthouse Comics.
